Student Assistance Program (SAP)
As we enter the final stages of the school year, the SAP team would like to thank you for all of your support. We hope that you continue to reach out to us for help and support for your child. Please keep in mind that you can contact the SAP team via email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are in need of a MARS evaluation for your child during the summer months. This can be set up for you through the SAP team and completed at Parkland High School. The MARS evaluation is a clinical interview completed by an employee of the Mid-Atlantic Rehabilitation Services to help locate a counselor for your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail us throughout the summer.
Please review the tips below to keep your child safe and drug-free this summer:
- Set summertime rules. Make clear rules regarding unsupervised time spent with friends and expectations.
- Supervise. Be physically present when you can. Research shows that unsupervised young people are more likely to use alcohol or other drugs.
- Monitor. Randomly call and text your child to check in and follow-up with other parents.
- Stay involved. Take time to do some activities together. Make sure that you know who your child is spending time with.
Have a great summer!
