Q1: What is Post Prom?
A: The Parkland High School Parent Forum committee instituted a post prom party in June 2002. The event takes place from 11:30 PM - 5 AM at Parkland High School following the Senior Prom to offer a drug-free night for the Class to spend "one last night together" and offers numerous activities for students including athletic events, dancing, music, games, food, a stage show and prizes. You do not have to attend Prom to attend the Post Prom Party. The party costs approximately $50,000 each year and is attended by about 1,000 students. Parents and volunteers, as well as generous donations from the local business community, have supported this tradition.
Q2: What is the Post Prom Committee?
A: The mission of the committee is to ensure the safety of our children by offering a post prom experience filled with entertainment and positive choices. It's made possible through the volunteer efforts of parents, community and local businesses, and fully supported by the Parkland School District administration and staff.
Q3: When do tickets for the Post Prom Party go on sale?
A: You can buy Post Prom Tickets Monday, April 13th~Friday, April 17th during 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th periods during lunches in the Cafeteria. All-Day CAP, LCTI, DCO, Cyber, etc. Students: should purchase tickets in Dr. Drake’s office during this time period. Make checks payable to PHS Class of 2026. Prom and Post Prom tickets will be sold at the same time, and you may pay for both tickets with one check (or cash).
Q4: Do I have to get my ticket before the party, or can I buy one at the door?
A: You can buy a ticket for Post Prom at the door, but it will cost you $20 rather than only $15 for a prepaid ticket as long as you have paid your class dues. If you haven’t, the cost is $40 at the door.
Q5: What do I get for my money?
A: Everything is free at the party once you have a ticket! That means the food, games, photos, and entertainment will not cost you anything!
Q6: What if I didn’t go to the prom? Can I still go to the party?
A: Yes! Yes! Yes! This is a senior class celebration. All PHS seniors are welcome. Every year, seniors who don’t attend the prom still do attend the post prom party.

Q7: What if my prom date is an underclassman or attends another school? Can my date come to the party?
A: Yes. They are welcome to come with you to the party, but they will not be eligible to win prizes at the event. Only Parkland seniors may win prizes.
Q8: I see that check-in is from 11:30 PM to 12:45 AM. What if I am running late?
A: Do your best to get changed into comfortable clothes and back to the high school by 12:45 AM.
Q9: I planned to come to the Post Prom Party in a limo I rented for the night. Is that a problem?
A: No, you’re certainly welcome to do that. We will also have school district buses to shuttle students back and forth between PHS and SteelStacks. Shuttle service from Parkland High School to SteelStacks is 5:30PM-6:15PM.
Q10: How would I arrange transportation?
A: When you buy your prom tickets, you need to indicate your transportation choice at that time. If you want to take advantage of the shuttle service, we suggest that you or someone in your party drop a car off at the school earlier in the day, along with your casual change of clothes.
Q11: Will lockers be available for the Post Prom Party? Where will I store my casual clothes and where can I change?
A: Lockers will NOT be available. If you bring a change of clothes, please store them in your car. A changing area will be available in the Auditorium lobby. Please change, return formal wear to your car, and THEN you may check in for Post Prom. Please refrain from bringing any bags into Post Prom.
Q12: What’s the dress code for the night?
A: It’s pretty much like it is for school. If you can’t wear it to school, you can’t wear it here. Remember that some places in the building are cooler than others, so you may want to bring a sweater or sweatshirt.
Q13: If I leave the party, can I come back?
A: The answer is no! YOU MAY NOT LEAVE BEFORE 1 AM and once you leave, YOU MAY NOT RE-ENTER AND YOUR NAME IS REMOVED FROM THE LIST OF ELIGIBLE PRIZE WINNERS.
Q14: What is security like for the night?
A: Security will be pretty much like it is for dances and sporting events. The South Whitehall Township Police and KRE Security will be there along with Parkland High School Personnel.
Q15: When I get to school, what entrance do I use?
A: You will check in with your School ID at the Auditorium entrance.
Q16: Can I bring food or drink to the party?
A: No. Any item brought in will be subject to a security check. All outside foods, beverages, containers and bottles will be discarded. Please refrain from bringing any bags into the Post Prom Party.
Q17: Do I need my school ID?
A: Yes. We know it is a pain, but we certainly do not know every PHS senior – so we must check IDs. You WILL NOT be eligible to win prizes without your School ID.
Q18: Are parents going to be crawling all over the place?
A: We’re not going to lie to you. It does take quite a few parents in order to pull off a party of this size, but the parents who will be there will have an assigned job. They are not there to watch! We mainly use the senior parents to set up before the party and clean up in the morning. However, some parents have been major planners of this event and they NEED to be there to see that things run smoothly.
Q19: What’s all this I hear about prizes being given out all night?
A: Things like iPads, TVs, laptops, gift cards, and lots of cash will be awarded throughout the night. These are prizes that Parkland parents and area businesses have generously donated. Remember, to win you must be present and have your School ID.
Q20: If I win something early in the night, can I win anything else or am I done?
A: You can win again, so stick around! It may be your lucky night!
Q21: How do I get notifications and up-to-date information regarding Prom and Post Prom?
A: Prize winners will be posted on the Class of 2026 Schoology page throughout the evening.
Q22: If I think of any other questions, where can I find the answer?
A: Any questions, feel free to stop by the office and ask Dr. Drake, or you can email the party chairperson at volunteer4postprom@gmail.com.
