Post Prom is a Parkland School District Safe Schools Initiative
What is Post Prom?
The Parkland High School Parent Forum committee instituted a post prom party in June 2002. The event takes place from 11 PM - 5 AM at Parkland High School following the Senior Prom to offer a drug-free night for the Class to spend "one last night together" and offers numerous activities for students including athletic events, dancing, music, games, food, a stage show and prizes. You do not have to attend Prom to attend the Post Prom Party. The party costs approximately $50,000 each year and is attended by about 1,000 students. Parents and volunteers, as well as generous donations from the local business community, have supported this tradition.
What is Post Prom Committee?
The mission of the committee is to ensure the safety of our children by offering a post prom experience filled with entertainment and positive choices. It's made possible through the volunteer efforts of parents, community and local businesses, and fully supported by the Parkland School District administration and staff.
How Can I Help?
Please help us continue this great tradition and help preserve it for future Parkland High School seniors through community awareness and involvement.
Sign Up to Help Out During Post Prom!
Want to part of the fun and excitement for Post Prom, sign up to be at the school for the big party! You’ll need to be sure you have all your clearances, so learn more about that here.
If you can’t be there that night, the PHS Post Prom Party needs yummy sweets for the cafe and coffee bar. Treats should be small, precut, and individual servings. (Think bite size – it’s what they like!)
